BabySpace Q&A: What are your thoughts on vaccinations in the first year?
We recommend that parents follow a vaccination schedule. Currently there isn't any research proving any adverse affects to following the American Academy of Pediatrics vaccination schedule. That being said, it is our understanding that it is ok to spread out vaccines. We know of many pediatricians who do spread out vaccines. However, we've seen that pediatricians can differ in the timing of certain vaccines such as MMR. We suggest having a conversation with your pediatrician to learn his or her recommendations. If you feel uncertain about your doctor's advice, remember it is always ok to get a second opinion.
